The Brazilian Airspace Industry is one of the greatest and most traditional of the world, displaying a vast technological park linked mainly by EMBRAER, which is the third largest manufacturer of commercial aircrafts in the planet.
It all started last century when, for the first time in history, the Brazilian Alberto Santos Dumond, eradicated in France, was successful in flying an aircraft heavier than the air, which was able to take off by itself (14-Bis).
Motivated by the continental greatness of Brazil, water abundance and its remarkable aeronautic tradition, EDRA Aeronáutica designed, developed and manufactured composite material amphibious aircrafts. With over 250 seaplenes currently manufactured and spread through more than 20 countries, EDRA has become a reference in the hydroplane market.
In 2009, EDRA is proud to world widely introduce the sixth generation of the project: the brand new Super Petrel LS. Totally designed and built under ASTM standards, Super Petrel LS may be delivered as homebuilt kit, advanced microlight or ultralight as well as American LSA - Light Sport Aircraft and in future EASA, ELA-European Light Aircraft.
