Super Petrel LS´ structural, aerodynamic and hydrodynamic engineering calculation and tests followed the ASTM standards, a requirement for LSA – Light Sport Aircraft registration in the USA.
ELA - European Light Aircraft, which is being developed by EASA, is also based on ASTM standards and its registration processes seem to be feasible allowing an airplane to fly without international restrictions in Europe, by means of “EASA Permit to Fly” authorization.
In its standard configuration, Super Petrel LS complies with Very Light Aircraft / Micro light JAR-VLA regulation. Nonetheless, a local certification program may be required in certain countries.
Homebuilt Aircraft, commonly referred as “Experimental”, requires an overflying and landing permission for each country from the respective NAA – National Aviation Authority. Super Petrel LS kits are commonly registered as Amateur Built in many different countries all over the world.
